NXT 2.0 June 14, 2022 Recap And Results

Tuesday’s episode of NXT was taped ahead of time, but good for you if you’ve managed to make it until now without having the action spoiled ahead of time. The biggest thing to come out of this week’s show was the reveal of Bron Breakker’s next challenger. After successfully defending the NXT Title against Duke Hudson, Cameron Grimes emerged to challenge Breakker. The pair will face off for the brand’s richest prize at Great American Bash on July 5.

Toxic Attraction Defeated

That’s the only match booked for that show so far, but the main event on Tuesday night hinted at one or two more that will likely be added in the coming weeks. The team of Cora Jade, Roxanne Perez, and Indi Hartwell managed to defeat Toxic Attraction. The Senton Jade hit on Dolin so Perez could end the match was a lot rougher than it looked on TV, reportedly injuring the Tag Champion so badly that the match ended prematurely.

As for the North American Title, Carmelo Hayes’ championship will be on the line before Great American Bash. Hayes accepted Tony D’Angelo’s challenge this week, and the pair will clash in a title match next Tuesday. Later in the show, Hayes teamed with Trick Williams and beat Stacks and Two Dimes. A somewhat awkward match to watch as the latter has been released since this week’s edition of NXT was taped.

Welcome, Giovanni Vinci

Tuesday’s NXT also welcomed Fabian Aichner back into the fold, but under his new ring name, Giovanni Vinci. Vinci’s return has been teased for a while and was confirmed last week. The Italian Superstar picked up a quick win over Guru Raaj. Nothing special, but he will clearly take a while to find the feet of this new character after being a part of Imperium before the rest of the group was moved to SmackDown.

Elsewhere on this week’s NXT, Tiffany Stratton lost thanks to a Wendy Choo distraction, The Creed Brothers defended the Tag Team Titles, and Wes Lee picked up an impressive win over Xyon Quinn. A full rundown of Tuesday night’s results can be found below.
